The Global Block List table consists of unique entries created or modified by the administrator, which represent spam sources that may not be verified by RBL services or identified by other tests. These records can be entered in the form of Domain Names, IP Addresses, 'Mail From' IDs, Recipient IDs or Subject field text, through the 'Add Block List Entry' utility or from various spam mail traffic reports.
For each inbound SMTP message, the email header information is compared FIRST to the Global Allow List and then the Personal Allow List. If no overriding entries are matched, the spam blocker compares the pending email to entries in this Global Block List table.
When a Global Block List match is encountered, the Spam Mail Blocker journals and archives the email item as SPAM, sends a reset command to the internal mail server to terminate the SMTP session and sends an 'undeliverable' message to the sending server.
The TOOLS panel includes a database SEARCH utility to assist with reviewing entries within this table. as well as related utilities to add email identifier records to this table.
You may enter and search upon an email header parameter Type name (sender's IP Address, sender's Domain, MailFrom address, MailTo address, Subject text or Notes text) or a full or partial parameter Value name to locate specific records or display a list of common entries from this table.
