HR Report

The HR Report displays for the selected User(s) or IP address: Search Engine Queries, Instant Messages Sent and Received, Internet Domains Visited, as well as Email Sent and Received.

HR information is based upon the 'Search Criteria' specifed to the right. To display email records, you will need to enter the user's Email Address. The time frame for the reported data defaults to the current day, but you may select any time range or days of interest.

For example: to find HR Report information for a user named 'Phil' under Search Criteria, enter 'phil' as the user, select the date range or separate days of interest, and click on Submit Search.

Note, by searching for 'phil' you are going to get all the variations of the name 'phil', including 'domain\phil', 'domain\phil.lafferty', 'domain\philip.smith'. The more specific a User name entry is, the more focused the report will be. For our example, using 'domain\phil.lafferty' will give results for one specific user.

By referencing the Logged in Users - History report, you can identify users and the time frame that they were logged onto the network, which can help to streamline your report Search process.

H.R. Report

What does this report tell me?
The H.R. Report displays for the selected User(s) or IP address: Search Engine Queries, Instant Messages, Domains Visited, and optionally Emails Sent and Received.

Why should I use this report?
Use this report to audit User activity and to identify potential problems such as violations of Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) agreements, sexual harassment, threatening/abusive communications and potentially criminal behavior.

How do I read it?
This report comes in four parts. The following explains each report's components and links:

Search Engine Queries Report
The Search Engine Queries report shows what the user searched for and with which search engine.

IP Address - This column shows the IP Address of the Computer where the User made the search query. Click on the IP Address link to view a set of detailed reports specific to that IP Address.
User - This column shows the User logged into the Computer which made the search query. Click on the User link to view a set of detailed reports specific to that User.
Computer - This column shows the Computer where the User made the search query. Click on the Computer link to view a set of detailed reports specific to that Computer.
Search Site - This column shows the search engine used to make the search query.
Search Query - This column shows the word or phrase of the search query.
Time - This column shows the time when the User made the search query.

Instant Messaging Report
The Instant Messaging Report shows instant messaging (IM) conversations between the specified User and others.

IP Address - This column shows the IP Address of the computer where the IM conversation took place. Click on the IP Address link to view a set of detailed reports specific to that IP Address.
User - This column shows the User logged into the Computer involved with the IM conversation. Click on the User link to view a set of detailed reports specific to that User.
Computer - This column shows the name of the Computer involved with the IM conversation. Click on the Computer link to view a set of detailed reports specific to that Computer.
Message From - This column shows the IM name or alias sending the message.
Message To - This column shows the IM name or alias receiving the message.
Message Text - This column shows the text of the IM transmission.
Time - This column shows the time when the sender transmitted the Message Text.

Domains Visited Report
The Domains Visited Report shows what web sites the specified User visited.

IP Address - This column shows the IP Address of the Computer where the User made the web request. Click on the IP Address link to view a set of detailed reports specific to that IP address.
User - This column shows the User logged into the Computer that made the web request. Click on the User link to view a set of detailed reports specific to that User.
Computer - This column shows the Computer where the User made the web request. Click on the Computer link to view a set of detailed reports specific to that Computer.
Category - This column shows the TTC Content Category of the requested web site.
Domain - This column shows the Internet domain of the web request. Click on the Domain link to view the web site in a new browser window.
Time - This column shows the time when the User visited the Domain.

Emails Sent and Received Report
This report shows a summary of emails sent to and received by the specified User.

Email From - This column shows the sender of the email message.
Email To - This column shows the recipient of the email message.
Email Subject - This column shows the subject of the email message.
Bytes In - This column shows how many inbound bytes of data that the mail server transferred for the specified email message.
Bytes Out - This column shows how many outbound bytes of data that the mail server transferred for the specified email message.
Time - This column shows what time the mail server sent or received the message.
