About Databases Hide Info
Total Traffic Control Servers use three SQL databases:

The Statistics Database includes statistical information specific to your network. As network traffic is processed, the IP Objects in your active configuration add to the Statistics Database. Older data is normally purged according to the settings in Database Tables.

The Content Database contains web content categories and their associated domains, URLs, and IP addresses. There are also tables for virus and intrusion signatures, spam mail patterns, banned processes and more. At least once a day the Content Database is updated by the scheduled task, "Update Content Database." Critical updates such as Lightspeed manual changes and virus signatures are updated every 30 minutes by default.

The Index Database contains indexes used for message journaling and there are no direct user configuration or reports.

Database Sharing
New content categorizations and virus signatures are being defined all the time. You can get content database updates from Lightspeed Systems, but you can also get content database updates from other TTC Servers, and you can share your own updates with whomever you want. Database Sharing lets you set the policies for sharing these updates.
