Though your Security Server does a lot of its own content database updating through its daily scheduled tasks, such as Categorize unknown URLs and Analyze Spam Emails, it can add more information to the local database by retrieving updates through database sharing from other TTC Security Servers.
Each TTC Security Server must identify a source Security Server from which it will retrieve its regular content database updates. The default setting specifies that the Lightspeed Systems Open Database Server (Master Database) located at 'http://opendb.lightspeedsystems.com' will be the primary update source.
The Database Sources page displays the current status information for database updates, showing the current TTC Security Server - update source (where database updates are being retrieved from) and the date/time stamp that each table in the database was last updated.
The list of table updates will likely have differing update date/time stamps, as not every table will have updates to apply at every update cycle.
When multiple update Sources are identified, this report will display which local database tables were updated from each update Source.
Content Database updates are automatically processed by a Scheduled Task on a daily basis. Updates should be processed only during 'off hours' so as not to conflict with normal operations. (More Help).
The Tools page includes a TOOLBOX utility to assist with adding new update sources for your TTC Security Server.
